Solar Career Program

This program is designed to provide students with basic knowledge of photovoltaic systems, suitable for a supervised, entry-level position within the PV industry. This program gives participants a greater understanding of solar technology and the foothold to play a part in an exciting and expanding field. In this program, students will learn how photovoltaic systems work and the many ways people are using solar technology around the world to power homes, businesses, telecommunications, communities and even transportation.

With the tools and knowledge gained from this program, students will understand the best uses of photovoltaic energy, know how light energy from the sun can be converted for household use, have a general understanding of PV system components, sizing, and be able to perform basic system analysis and troubleshooting. Successful graduates who complete this program may wish to continue their education and test for certification.
